Posted: 24 Oct 2011 05:26 AM PDT

KOLEJ Tunku Abdul Rahman (KTAR) will be taking part in the PJ Half Marathon, at the Petaling Jaya Stadium in Kelana Jaya on Oct 30, for the first time.

KTAR students affairs department staff member Yvonne Tan said about 300 students would join the event.

"The majority will be taking part in the 3km Family Fun Run. The participants are all from the KTAR co-curricular fitness programme. They will be accompanied by three coaches. Some participants will be taking part in either the 10km or half marathon.

"The run promotes good causes like tree-planting. Students get to learn about fitness and discipline as it is not easy to take part in such event," she said.

Physical Fitness Society president Boon Aik Hau, 19, said the event was popular and a good activity as it encouraged people from the college to take part in physical activities.
