Bank lends a hand to Cobras for the seventh season Posted: 11 Oct 2011 04:17 AM PDT HSBC have formed a strong partnership with the Combined Old Boys Rugby Association (Cobra). Once again for the seventh season, HSBC have come forward to support the HSBC-Cobras 10s at the Petaling Jaya Stadium in Kelana Jaya on Nov 12-13. Organising chairman Tan Sri Krishnan Tan said the 10s has dominated the lives of not only Cobra members but also their families, friends and colleagues. "We are proud to organise the 10s for the 42nd time. And we are also grateful to HSBC for being the title sponsors again. "The bank's significant contribution has played a big role in the promotion of rugby in Malaysia. Their support helps Cobra's efforts to continue to promote and develop rugby in Malaysia," said Krishnan after the sponsorship ceremony. HSBC head of global banking (South-East Asia) Chang Tou Chen said their partnership with Cobra started seven years ago. "Our continuous sponsorship towards the 10s further strengthens our support in promoting rugby in Malaysia as it instils many positive values such as discipline, strong teamwork and sportsmanship," said Tou Chen. This year's competition will have 16 teams — 13 foreign and three local — and offers a cash purse of US$33,000 (RM100,000). Full content generated by Get Full RSS. |
