Don national colours against Arsenal Posted: 21 Jun 2011 05:58 AM PDT THE FA of Malaysia (FAM) vice-president Datuk Subahan Kamal has urged local fans to come in the national colours when Malaysia take on Arsenal at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil on July 13. Subahan, who is also the national team manager, said he was aware of the strong following among Malaysians for teams in the EPL. "We have seen the Malaysian team on the rise. They were gold medallist in the Laos SEA Games in 2009. Last year, we were champions in the Suzuki Cup. "Support for Malaysian football is encouraging. It will be appropriate and patriotic if Malaysian fans can come clad in the national colours to support the team when we play against Arsenal," said Subahan at the launching of the special edition tickets for the match. Pro Events, the organisers of the Arsenal Asia Tour, have printed 25,000 tickets, bearing the image of the national team, for the match. Subahan said Pro Events were honouring the national team for their recent success. "I believe this is the first time that such tickets have been printed and put on sale for a football match. "It will be an inspiration to the players to do well against the English club," said Subahan. Pro Events chief executive officer Julian Kam said the commemorative tickets was an appreciation to the Malaysian football fans. "Pro Events have not forgotten the support given to Malaysian football as well as our events in Malaysia. We came out with the commemorative tickets in recognition of the Malaysian team," said Julian. Tickets for the Malaysia vs Arsenal match are priced at RM58, RM68, RM108 and RM388.
