Musical on Mokhtar Dahari to be staged at Istana Budaya

Awie to play legendary Malaysian footballer in the musical.

THE life of famed footballer Datuk Mokhtar Dahari will be made into a musical in November.

To be staged at Istana Budaya in Kuala Lumpur from Nov 6 to 18, Super Mokh Sebuah Musical stars Awie, Maya Karin, Rashidi Ishak, Douglas Lim and Dina Nazir. It will be directed by Hans Issac and Harith Iskander with Michael Veerapan as musical director.

"For me, the late Mokhtar is not only respected by Malaysian sports fans but also in the Asian region. I am very honoured to be given the opportunity to be involved in this show. However, I am nervous," says Hans.

The director adds that there will be 10 songs featured in the musical.

Tickets for Super Mokh Sebuah Musical are priced at RM46, RM96, RM106, RM126, RM166, RM206, RM236 and RM306 for night shows. Tickets for matinee (Nov 9, 10, 16 and 17) are priced at RM38, RM78, RM96, RM102, RM134, RM166, RM190 and RM246. Tickets are available from www.ticket2u.biz.
