GE13: Lower land premium is Azmin’s promise to Gombak houseowners if he retains seat Posted: 29 Apr 2013 04:59 AM PDT GOMBAK PKR candidate Azmin Ali is hoping to resolve outstanding issues in the constituency if he wins in GE13. Azmin, the incumbent for the Gombak parliamentary seat, said most of the issues had been resolved except for one main issue concerning land premium. He said the residents comprised mainly Malays, from the middle- and lower-income groups. They cannot afford to pay the high premium. "Gombak is an urban area and the premium is high, as it is close to the city. We have managed to settle the issues in Kampung Sri Gombak and Kampung Gombak Setia," added Azmin after a ceramah in Gombak recently. He said the premium ranged from RM2.50 psf before but that they had managed to bring the price down to RM1.50. Azmin said he hopes to bring the price down further, to RM1, if re-elected. "This has benefited about 250 families. They have managed to get their land titles to pass on to the next generation," he said. For more election stories, please visit The Star's GE13 site |
