ROAD CLOSURE

Besraya (M) Sdn Bhd will be temporarily closing Jalan Pandan 1, heading to MRR2 and also the turnoff heading to Maluri and Shamelin on Feb 14 and 15 to facilitate the building of the BR 8 bridge for the Sungai Besi Highway link project. The closure will take place between midnight and 5am. Road users from Maluri or Shamelin heading to MRR2 are advised to use Jalan Pandan 2 heading to Jalan Pandan 3 and head out via Jalan Pandan 1 while motorists from MRR2 headed towards Maluri and Shamelin are advised to use Jalan Pandan 3 head to Jalan 1 via and Jalan Pandan 2.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE

The slip road from Taman Mutiara Barat to Jalan Cheras, beside the flyover to Taman Segar, will be temporarily closed until May 11 to facilitate piling work and pile cap construction for the MRT Sungai Buloh-Kajang line. Motorists coming from Jalan Dato' Harun are advised to use Jalan Mutiara Raya to get onto Jalan Cheras.

CHEMPAKA BUDDHIST LODGE

Some 100 forest monks who have been travelling on foot from Chiangmai, Myanmar, to Pattaya under the leadership of Azhan Konkeuy will be residing in Chempaka Buddhist Lodge tomorrow at 3pm. There will be a chanting and blessing ceremony on Friday from 9.30am to 5pm, and on Saturday from 9.30am to 2pm at Chempaka Buddhist Lodge (60, Jalan SS23/25, Taman SEA, Petaling Jaya, Selangor). Senior bowlers get chance to strut their stuff

SPORTSUNITE has teamed up with Nestle Cornflakes and Sunway Mega Lanes to host the inaugural Seniors Doubles Unity Bowling Carnival catering to senior graded and social bowlers at the Sunway Mega Lanes in Sunway Pyramid on March 9.

Bowlers from two races will form the combination of women's doubles, men's doubles and mixed doubles in the meet for women's graded bowlers 35 years and above and men's graded bowlers 40 years and above.

Besides promoting the spirit of unity and social integration, they have drawn up the handicap structure for the competitors based on their age-groups for women and men in creating a level playing field.

Each bowler is required to complete four games each and the combined scores of both bowlers in the team including their respective handicaps will determine the winners.

The champions will pocket RM1,000 while the runners-up and third placed pairs will settle for RM800 and RM600 respectively.

The fourth pair will secure RM500 and the fifth pair will earn RM400.

Pairs finishing in sixth and 10th positions will also receive RM200 each.

Medals and hampers will also be given away to the high game winners.

A maximum of 72 pairs are expected to join the action.

Entry fee is RM60 per pair.
