KJLJD slot four goals to storm to victory in Division One

Posted: 28 Dec 2012 05:59 AM PST

RAZALI Hazemi scored two goals in KJLJD's convincing 4-0 win over RAMD in the final of the Selangor Hockey League at the Ministry of Education (MoE) Hockey Stadium in Jalan Pantai, Kuala Lumpur recently.

The forward was on target in the 55th and 57th minutes. Earlier, Mohd Szhuari Kamal had scored KJLJD's opening goal in the 11th minute while Raja Rozaifa Raja Daud was on target in the 47th minute.

It was a memorable night for KJLJD as they were also crowned as the Division One champions. Their striker Mohd Szhuari was voted as the Man of Match (final).

The match was quite an interesting affair as both teams played an attacking game. But the KJLJD players were swift in counter-attacks. KJLJD coach Kamaruddin Misman said it was a great season for them.

"We were consistent throughout the competition. The players should be praised for their performance. We are looking forward to the next season,'' said Kamaruddin.

As the champions, KJLJD received RM3,000 while RAMD settled for RM1,500.

In an earlier match for the third spot, UiTM edged Selangor Indian Association (SIA) 3-2.

UiTM's goals were scored by Muhammad Ariff Engliman in the 19th and 33rd minutes and Muhammad Noor Faeez Ibrahim in the 22nd minute. SIA's goals came from Shawn Sureah Sundramurthy (45th) and P. Praba (49th) minutes. UiTM received RM750 and SIA RM500.

Selangor Hockey Association (SHA) president Datuk Seri Subahan Kamal said they were pleased with the support from their affiliates for the league.

"The competition committee did a wonderful job. We are looking into initiating several programmes next year. The priority will be programmes at grassroots,'' said Suba-han.
