200 entries for TV forum this year Posted: 07 Dec 2012 05:30 PM PST SINGAPORE: The number of quality Malaysian films and TV programmes ready for global release brought to the 13th Asia Television Forum (ATF) 2012 – one of the world's most successful content markets – has doubled to more than 200. National Film Development Corporation of Malaysia (Finas) chairman Datuk Md Afendi Hamdan said the increase was a reiteration of the dynamic growth of the Asian content market. "We are very happy again this year. Last year, we had about 40 companies taking part and this year we have 50," he said after the Creative Malaysia Networking Luncheon here on Thursday. Md Afendi said that since Finas started taking part in ATF in 2006, the country's participation had grown tremendously, bringing about a significant increase in the number of completed programmes available for sale and distribution. "The objective of the Malaysian contingent this year is to put innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship at the forefront of the global film and multimedia content supply chain and make this industry a prominent engine of growth and a high contributor to the national GDP," said Md Afendi. — Bernama |
