Fun Run to raise funds for foundation

Posted: 12 Oct 2012 04:42 AM PDT

THE response for the inaugural Bukit Damansara Fun Run on Oct 27 has been encouraging.

The fun run, organised by Pro-Tenis has generated a lot of interest among residents in Damansara.

The 5.1km run will start at 6pm at Decanter restaurant in Jalan Setiabakti. Participants will go through Jalan Medan, Jalan Beringin, Jalan Bruas and back to Jalan Setiabakti.

Organising committee member Irene Toi said they had received encouraging support from participants.

"The event is for social runners. It is an opportunity for the participants to get together for a good cause as proceeds from the events will be donated to the Kiwanis Down Syndrome Foundation (KDSF) National Centre.

"After the completion of the run, the participants can look forward to an entertaining evening, with food and drinks served, at the Decanter in Jalan Setia Bakti.

"The route is simple and within the capabilities of a social runner. We are giving the participants about 90 minutes to complete the race," said Irene.

The organisers have limited participation to 1,000 runners and are confident of meeting the target before the closing date.

Those wishing to take part in the run can register at Decanter restaurant in Jalan Setiabakti, Kuala Lumpur or its other outlet in Jalan 17/56 in Section 17, Petaling Jaya.
