JOHOR BARU: PKR adviser Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim warned that the party would not tolerate corrupt leaders and those not in line with the party's struggles.

These people would not be selected as candidates in the coming elections, he said at the closing of the PKR National Congress here Sunday.

Anwar also urged the party to reject those who had hopped parties, especially during elections.

He said the series of defections of the party's elected representatives after the 2008 general election was a bitter lesson for him.

"I admit that I am partly to be blamed because I endorsed their candidacies but at that time, we lacked candidates and some even declined to become our candidates.

"This time around, it will be different because I want the party to kick out traitors the moment they behave suspiciously," he said.

He reminded PKR's elected leaders not to forget their past and that nobody was invisible in their post.

Anwar claimed the Opposition was now better prepared for the election, including making inroads in Johor.
