He has been training at the gym doing cycling, treadmill, weights and stepping. MBSA start training for next season’s FAS League Posted: 28 Oct 2011 04:19 AM PDT SHAH ALAM City Council (MBSA) have started early preparations for the Football Association of Selangor (FAS) League. MBSA team manager T. Anbarasan said they had set a high target for the team in the Premier Division of FAS League. "We are aiming for a quarter-final spot in the league. For that, we have to finish as one of the top two teams in the group,'' said Anbarasan. Last season, MBSA, coached Tarmizi Ismail, were third in the group and lost to UMW in the FA Cup. This year, MBSA took part in the Local Council football competition in Johor Baru. They qualified for the final but lost 0-1 to Johor Baru City Council. For finishing as runners-up, the management had rewarded the MBSA players and officials with a holiday to Langkawi. Early this month, MBSA were in action in Datuk Bandar Cup. There were two groups — Industries and Youth — and MBSA were champions in the Industry category, RRI Youth were champions in the Youth section. Both MBSA and RRI Youth in the final to determine who wins the Datuk Bandar Cup. The final is expected to be played after the Malaysia Cup competition. Ambarasan said they were looking forward to the final and had intensified their training programme. "We are currently training thrice a week. The players are showing a lot commitment in training and are determined to win the Datuk Bandar Cup. "All the players in the team are employees of MBSA. In the past we had outsiders to strengthen the team. "But now we have decided to rely only on our employees. We also don't give any training allowance to the players. The only incentive they get is travelling allowance that they get on match day. But the management will reward the players if they win honours in the league or any other competition,'' said Anbarasan. The MBSA will play a series of friendly matches to maintain the players' fitness throughout the season. "The new season will kick off in January. We have another two months. The friendly matches will keep the players in the competitive mood.'' Full content generated by Get Full RSS. |
