Jealous tomboy kills woman over 'love triangle'

Posted: 19 Sep 2011 08:01 AM PDT

SUNGAI PETANI: A woman was stabbed to death by her tomboy lover over a 'love triangle'.

Suriani Md Saad, 29, died shortly after being stabbed repeatedly at their rented house at Lorong 6, Taman Semarak Fasa 1, here at about 5.30pm Monday.

Kedah CID chief ACP Zakaria Ahmad said Suriani, from Yan, was in the house with her 25-year-old lover when the incident occurred.

"They were believed to have argued and the situation turned aggressive when her tomboy lover took out a knife and stabbed the woman repeatedly on the chest and abdomen, causing severe injuries.

"Suriani was said to have tried to flee but collapsed in front of her neighbour's house nearby," he said.

He said members of the public sent the tomboy, who was injured as a result of a scuffle with Suriani, to Hospital Sultan Abdul Halim (HSAH), here for treatment.

He said preliminary investigation revealed that jealousy was the motive for the incident and several knives, believed to have been used as weapons in the killing, were found at the scene. BERNAMA
